Any P-40C Tomahawk and/or Spitfire fans?

Well, seeing as today is my LAST day of classes this year, I'm going to try and take advantage of rare event tomorrow afternoon and snap some pictures of a P-40C Tomahawk and Spitfire during some maintenance flights.  Up at Arlington municipal airport, Paul G. Allen has a unique aviation museum.  It's called the Flying Heritage Museum and all of its aircraft are restored to flying condition.  So far they have around 12 aircraft in flying condition and are in the process of restoring a B-17E to flying condition.  Other aircraft inclue the Mustang, Storch, BF-109, Hellcat, Jenny, and Zero.

And since the P-40 is my all time favorite WWII aircraft, hopefully I will have some beautiful shots to post for everyone!  The flights are only supposed to be about an hour, and I don't have any idea as to what the a/c will be doing.

Anyway, to see the beautiful birds, check out the website at: www.flyingheritage.com

Enjoy!

Yep, he's been accumulating his collection for some years now. Several of his aircraft have originated from the UK, such as AR614, the Spitfire V, which was one of the earlier restorations for Historic Flying Ltd. This was originally restored for Sir Tim Wallis' collection in NZ, but he sold it after he was seriously injured in another Spitfire crash. Hopefully soon we'll see his Bf109e in the air over the UK before it is shipped over to the states (Its featured in this months "Air Classics" and "Warbirds" mags in the US)... :)

If my avatar and signature picture don't tell you my bias..... ;D
As for P-40s you need to talk to Steve (Professor Brensec), he is fanatical about them ;D

Well, as with June in Seattle, looks like I won't be seeing any neat planes flying today.  Crummy weather. :(  Maybe next weekend though!  But, whenever I do get the pics, I will certainly post them here for you guys to enjoy!

I'm just thrilled anytime I can see something other than a Mustang... no offense to you 'Stang fans out there... but man, they're everywhere!  There were more WWII airplanes than just the Mustang, people. lol

Oooh I'd like to see them but I'm more into the modern military stuff, since it will be my future office... ;)

The P-40 is my favorite too.  Unfortunately, I can't be there in person but I'll be there in spirit!
