Hello, A long time ago I had a video of the FedEx 14 N611FE that crashed at Newark Int'l on July 31, 1997. It was footage from ABC that showed the plane upside down and burning and the fire crews were throwing foam and water on it. I like to use videos like that for training my guys at my airport FD. ANYONE with info on where I could find this, please respond or better yet, e-mail me at
ARFFguy@hotmail.com Thank you very much.

Can't help you with a video link... have you tried contacting the network?
This post caught my eye because I live close to KEWR and happened to be standing in my parking lot when that crash occurred... it sounded like the normal thrust-reverse at first (can't actually see the runways from there), but it just kept on going, and getting louder. Just as I thought "uh-oh", I could see a sickening column of very black smoke beginning to rise from the south end of the field.
The good news? It was a freighter, and the flight crew and a few "dead-headers" got out OK. Looking at that charred wreck later, I was amazed that they survived. It somehow rolled almost inverted on final, slammed to the ground inverted, and burst into flames right away...
