Almost took my flippin' head off...

Dang, today I decided to brave the usual Ellensburg wind with my RC plane... and I finally called it quits when I actually had to hit the ground in order to not hit myself with the plane! Not once, but THREE times! Of course, it was the winds fault... ;D
but man! ASOS was reporting 20kt winds with gusts to 25.
Each time I approached about 10 feet in front of me, and I had the plane a pretty good distance up... about 15 feet or so, and then all the sudden the wind would just STOP, causing the plane to drop and turn a bit to lighn up for a perfect header right into me. I felt like a moron out there dodging my own plane. The other day the wind was 18 knots, but pretty steady and was able to very gently fly the plane right into my hands.
Humm... fun stuff.
