Out of curiousity - does anybody know the exact cost of Aviation Gas and/or JetA in their part of the world? ;D It would be interesting to see how the price differs in different coutries and the relation of Av Gas and Jet A in comparisson to Auto fuel!

Currently, in Calgary Canada, the price of our Avgas is about the price of our premium automotive gas

$0.95 CAD + GST (7%), and our jetfuel is a little bit cheaper: Jet A $0.82 + GST

Avgas and automotive gas have different vaporizing characterstics, as well as different additives, even though they are relatively the same. Avgas is designed for air use, so that you would not get vapor locks for example while in the air. The burning characteristics are a bit different, and therefore automotive gas can be hard on the engine. All in all, no aircraft owner should convert to automotive gas in their aircraft, i think its illegal.
Automotive gas is cheaper, and therefore i guess thats the reason why some people convert.
