Does anyone know if the Comanche helocopter program was cancelled?

nice chopper way too expensive. I have a diagram of its engine and systems laying around somewhere from my dad, as it was part of his job to review is suitability for use in the british military.

Why bother when you have the Apache to do a perfectly good job...

Would have been a good replacement to the gazelle though.

But useful? The Apache is perfectly capable (and very cool at that).

It was a total waste of money, the helos we currently have won't need to be replaced for years to come and do their jobs well.

Yup everything we got right now is good in it's current position.

The apache is a very slow helicoptor and useful for attack only. The commanche was to be a recon helicopter to replace something like the Kiowa or whatever it is called and the gazzel, both of which are starting to get old.

But that's what Her Majesty's Army and probably most other armies are spending lots of money on portable, forward operated UAVs for.

thus another reason to cancel the comanche.

Ya but until they actually have UAVs used in combat, I would much rather have a human flying recon. It's much more safe these days.
