I don't know if this is a new shot or an oldy, however as I hadn't seen it before I thought I'd post it....
It shows a 747-400 and a 757-200 landing on runways 28L and 28R at SFO, at the same time. The illusion of closeness caused no doubt by the lens and the huge difference in size of the two aircraft.

I might have been in a near miss once, but another plane flew between us and blocked the view

One of the more fun ones I have seen. When the winds are pretty much north/south at KDFW, the tower will actually fly the approaches to runways 17 left, right, and center and 18 left, right and center. Six planes on approach at the same time is common. Quite amusing to watch at times.

They really aren't even close, telephoto lenses distort the depth of the photograph.

Ya in reality they are thousands of feet apart, otherwise the FAA would have a fit!

I've never been close to another plane, but certainly have been close to other large birds. Had to dive to miss a red tailed hawk, and flew in the pattern with a Bald Eagle circling just off final.

I've had my share of close calls, both with the local birds and with other airliners. Not too bad as long as you keep an eye on them.
