There are a bunch of them here,so if you don't get an answer from any of them here I'd suggest you PM either OTTOL (flies lear jets, great fella!), Skligmund (turboprops I believe?) and Saratoga (who flies just about everything ;D )
I only fly 4 seat Diamonds :(

I have very limited experience with "conventional" built trainers, like the C172 and PA28 etc, but the DA-40 is more slippery, harder to slow down (very relative
) more aerodynamic. I really like the electric trim button, compared to the old trim wheel you'll find in other aircrafts. It's faster aswell, I usually fly that sucker just one notch below 140kts ;D

Awsome. I learned to fly in a 172 and I got to sit in a DA-20 (I think) in Oshkosh at Airventure last summer. It was awsome the controls were so smooth and fluid feeling. I really liked the stick better than a yoke, it felt more natural. Might have to go over to a nearby airport to rent theirs someday to try it out.

My airfield flies one diamond for the flight school... my mom wanted me to fly it b/c it was cheaper but there was no way she was going to keep me out of the more respectable (no offense), less CPL-ish 172.

I have yet to step into a Diamond, though they are some beautiful airplanes. I got stuck behind one not too long ago. Looks like it would be a fun little airplane to play with.
Electric trim...ahhh one of the few luxuries a C172 could use.

All the new ones I've flown have electric trim.

Well the new ones are a very nice machine I will admit. But most flight schools are still flyin' the ones from the 70s and 80s. I am happy to say the FBO I usually fly with is starting to update all of their planes. Already got GPS/colour moving maps in all the light planes. I really am looking into perhaps purchasing one of their planes at some point. Good equipment.
