Quebec doesn't want to be a part of Canada.
This might be so but I understand that Air Canada is based in Montreal. This has nothing to do with me but I was simply curious about the obviously strong feelings against the "most popular Canadian recording artist" (your words, not mine), not only in Canada but all over the world. As I said, this is obviously a matter of internal politics & unfortunately I know very little about Canada. It really depends what market this advertising is aimed at. Air Canada is an international airline so I imagine they need to compete with other successful national carriers. I DO know that Celine Dion is Canadian (the same goes for Bryan Adams) but I've never heard of most of the other personalities mentioned in this thread. I'm sorry but until recently I never realised that the stars I am familar with, like Shania Twain, Leslie Neilsen & even Pam Anderson are Canadians.
I've been reading a little of the history behind all this & hope it succeeds. I often wonder if the vast expense involved in giving companies a new image would be better spent elsewhere. They never seem to mention the expense involved in changing it all back again if it doesn't work out as happened with BA & more recently our own Royal Mail. What genius dreamed up the name Consignia for goodness sake?

See, now you have no idea what I'm going on about.

I'll bow out now & let you chaps get on with it.
