How much are they? No, I'm not thinking of buying a private plane(OK I probably am), but I'm just wondering, how much.

if i remember correctly, a low end learjet would cost you $30 million to buy. and then a further $1million a year to run

Damn, I'm never buying a plane from you :P

A lear 23 will cost you $300-600,000. A new 45 will cost you just under $10,000,000.

A Cessna 152 can be had for $18,000. A 172 for around 30,000 and a 182 for around 50,000. These are all used. New a 172 cost 225,000 with all the nice stuff in it and a 182 up to 325,000 depending on how you equip it. A Cessna Citation X could cost you 18 million.

(all in US dollars of course)

All the prices above were to buy, not to run. But damn I wouldn't mind working for you either, paying a Lear pilot 90k and a copilot 65k :o And I've never seen a lear with a F/A ;)

A new Learjet costs $32,000,000. Trust me... no, I don't have one, but I saw on tv that is what they cost. A brand new King Air 350 costs $5.8 million, but $5,792,000 exactly...

A new Learjet costs $32,000,000.

Can you please show proof of that? The Lear 45 (most expensive Lear) sells for 9.8 million new. You could get a new Gulfstream for that price.

Just another example of media mis-information.
A new Learjet costs $32,000,000. Trust me...

The statement alone says it all. Okaaaay Let's start with the easy questions.

Which model?

All joking aside........Unfortunately the media, even those cool shows on Discovery, have a tendency to make it up as they go along.
I heard a great one recently with a female narrator expounding on the latest greatest features of the Army's newest attack helicopter prototype......"......this amazing helicopter is made of a new material called composite  " the lady excitedly babbled.... ::)

A composite is a substance, made from two or more components, that when combined, is stronger than it's elements as individual components.
ADOBE(circa 2,000 B.C.), which is comprised of straw and clay,  is a composite material! I hope the army isn't flying clay helicopters!
It's a simple matter of context.....if she had said "this helicopter is made from the  latest composite materials" or "made from new composite materials" it would have been correct.
On the same token, I have heard  everything from a JetStar to a Beech Starship referred to as a "Learjet", on TV.  The narrator excitedly bleats out " and a new LEARJET like this G4 will go all the way from New York to Hawaii on a tank of gas!!"
Trust ME........I just got the full tour of the factory in Wichita, including the prices of the latest Iron. The Lear 45 will set you back about 9.5 million and a used Lear 35 can be had for anywhere from 1-4 million.

a L39 does around 40.000 UK Pounds. for that price you get a fully aerobatic ex-military trainer.

If Ozzy wants something with a merlin engine:
