Some Excellent reading...

Postby Dan » Fri Mar 12, 2004 2:18 pm

Hi all, I would like to issue some great big thanks to a certain Alan Bramson for 2 excelent books on general flying techniques. If any of you want to get them from your library / bookshop, heres the stuff:

Be a Better Pilot - Alan Bramson - ISBN: 0-7110-1888-X
Make Better landings - Alan Bramson - ISBN: ???

Try them, they're great!

Hi Dan. I'm not sure if Alan Bramson is still around. I knew him back in 1961 when I worked at the Southern Aero Club. He gave me a signed copy of his "Flight Briefing For Pilots" as a Christmas present. I still have it. ;)

PS. He also wrote an excellent history of the Tiger Moth with NH Birch. This is well worth a read.

This is one of my all time favourite reference books.
Unfortunately, it's been out of print now for many years.
I have tried everywhere to obtain a copy, with no luck.
I have it on almost permanent loan from my local library.... :-[...!

My local library has been getting steadily more pis**d off with me ordering obscure books all the time. Have you got the ISBN for either of your books Doug, I would like to try them.

Glad to help. I'll let you have this one. ;)

I dug out that book I mentioned & did a quick scan of the inscription. I have very few reminders of those wonderful days & this is one of my prize possessions. 8)
