WELL i was about 3 or 4, i was walkin past a airforce base with my daddy, now what i think i saw was 3 A4 SKYHAWKS SCREEMING OVER MY HEAD & that my friend is how my love for aviation began... :)
Don't exactly remember the first one I saw because I probably was seeing them since I was first able to see
Reason being that my grandparents live under the ILS approach path to Glasgow airport (EGPF) runway 23
One of the first airplanes I remeber seeing up close was the BUFF at an airshow, god damn those things are huge
I could go on for hours but I save you the pain

1st remembered is a 707 I rode in from HR to JFK at the age of 3...... still remember it & I got a host of goodies including a metal model of the jet, a hard cover childrens book on the BOAC fleet & a trip to the cabin. I think they've toned down a child's experience now ..... (like nothing + full fair... ;D )

In the late 50s when I was about 7 years old I sat in a Hawker Hunter at a Country Fair. I must have seen an Aircraft before that, but that one stands out.

The first one I remember as a kid was an old Air Force jet the town bought and put in the park for us rug rats to climb around on. Unfortunately the hooligans in the town tore it up to the point that it had to be removed.
