In all my recent years of Microsoft Flight-Simulation, only two craft regularly resides inside my Sim Hangar.
My Bensen B-8 Gyrocopter. >>>> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bensen_B-8
My trusty Cessna 150 Aerobat. >>>> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cessna_150

Both eminently suitable for my daily explorations of the scenery below me at a very low level!

I agree gyros are fun in the sims unfortunately you don't have many choices. You have the freeware gyros you mentioned, the payware Golden age Simulations Pitcairn Autogiro or the two Fsaddon gyros which are part of the Sling2 pack, RAF2000 and the Magni M24.

What a great aviation story! Thanks for sharing, Paul.

Our local police department has a gryocopter which I call "Little Mad Max" when I see it fly around town. Several years ago it had a minor incident while taxiing on the runway: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BU6i7BDQWDU

I meet one of the pilots who stated that wouldn't had happened had the wheel base been 8 feet wide.

They now have a new one with that spec. My new name for it is "Little Mad Max II".
