Boeing 737-800s will be modified to add 12 more Seats

Postby Jetranger » Thu Mar 07, 2019 7:25 pm

Most of AA’s Boeing 737-800s will be "modified" to add "12 more seats", in order to match the 30-inch pitch and 172-seat capacity of AA’s "737 MAX aircraft".

And soon, the airline’s Airbus A321 will start being retrofit to squeeze in "3-9 more seats" to “harmonize” the number of seats for the entire A321 fleet at 190.

The internal name of this project: Project Oasis.

This is getting absurd & Ridiculous , won't be long nobody will even have room to even sit down and actually enjoy a Flight,,,

everybody will be packed in like "Sardines" in a can, cramped, no room ,,,,

and lord forbid, should you be on a Flight that gets stuck on the Tarmac for hours in the heat,,,,,,,,,

Their ruining Air Travel and NOT for the better !!!

Imagine taking an 8 to 10 hour flight jammed in there like a bunch of Sardines ?????

Appears the only real Comfy way of flying is trusty Ol' Flight Simulator anymore,,, where we don't have to live thru the Chaos & nightmares of corporate decisions and the almighty dollars !

Flying ain't fun anymore ,,, be better off driving it appears,,,,,

Juan Tripp (CEO Pan Am) and Howard Hughes (TWA) would be outraged !!!!!

brand new Boeing 737 MAX crashes Nothing in the US News Media as of yet about this ????????

Ethiopian Airlines "brand new" Boeing 737 MAX crashes on way to Kenya with 157 people on board

Operated by Ethiopian Airlines, the Boeing 737 MAX 8 was on a routine flight from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to the Kenyan capital. The airline confirmed that there were "no survivors"

Article Link : https://www.rt.com/news/453451-ethiopian-airlines-flight-crashes-on/

The aircraft model has been plagued with problems. In October, a Boeing 737 MAX 8 operated by Lion Air crashed minutes after taking off from Jakarta, Indonesia, killing all 189 passengers and crew.

After the crash, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced it would review Boeing’s previous safety analyses of the aircraft.

China grounds its "737 MAX fleet" after modern Boeing jet suffers 2nd crash in 5 months

Chinese airlines have been ordered to ground their Boeing 737 MAX 8 planes, after the modern jet suffered a second fatal crash in just five months – with its aviation watchdog noting disturbing similarities between the incidents.

“Given that two accidents both involved newly delivered Boeing 737-8 planes and happened during take-off phase, they have some degree of similarity,” the Civil Aviation Administration of China said Monday, emphasizing its principle of zero-tolerance on any safety hazards.

Boeing has already "grounded" the Air Force's brand new KC-46 tanker jets due to "sloppy manufacturing"

Boeing was forced to ground its 767-based KC-46 tankers for the past week after the Air Force expressed concern about "loose tools and bits of debris" found in various locations inside the completed airplanes, according to internal company memos.

If you compare 737-800 and 737 MAX WHAT is the difference in the cockpit systems?
I have seen people talking about the engines only but that is something else, is it not?
RIP to crew and pax on both Lion and Ethiopian :(

I was talking to my dad about this one today after I saw Boeing stock was taking a hit. My dad said:
There is some talk about the vertical speed sensor and the information it feeds to the computer. I understand also that there is a way to manually override that sensor that is in the flight manual for that particular version of the 737. Were they not trained for that? Who knows. Foreign countries seem to be the only ones having a problem with that airplane.

Then I read something that pretty much said the same thing.

Aeromexico joins growing list of airlines to ground Boeing 737 MAX jets after deadly crash

LINK : https://www.rt.com/news/453576-aeromexico-suspends-flights-boeing/

2 Things I'm noticing here ~ The US News Media is NOT Reporting this for some reason ???? as of right this hour 12:15am on March 12 2019

BUT RT is ???? wonder why ????

as usual,,, the US will WAIT until several of these things Crash, and possibly into populated areas, homes / business, before the US decides to ACT, on the issue, the attitude & mentality of wait until it happens then decide is pathetic at Best !!!

ALL the LINKS above point out that BOEING, the FAA and NTSB,, as well as "other PILOTS" have clearly known about this problem since November 2018

Yet their just now going to Roll out a software fix , "supposedly" in coming weeks, suddenly ??????

Boeing pledges to roll out software upgrade for 737 MAX in ‘coming weeks’ after FAA push

https://www.rt.com/news/453581-boeing-software-update-weeks/

Why should the FAA have to PUSH Boeing ????

shouldn't BOEING Corporate be "EAGER" to do this on their own for their own Reputation I'd think, as well as the LIVES of others ?????

This wait until it happens , "attitude & mentality" several more times before Boeing decides to get up off their Asses and issue emergency orders to Fix the issue and order those particular aircraft grounded until the FIX is IN,,,,, is serious cause for concern !!!!

I see NO difference between this and sitting a can of gasoline right next to your Fireplace and wait and see what happens, then ACT to decide to do something !!!
