I've been a little to busy for the past week to get much simming in, so these pictures will have to do for now.

And tomorrow I start a cross country 3,000 mile train trip in a sleeper car.

From Port Angeles, WA

PS - If anyone sees Mr Jetranger remind him not to come to Seattle, they're still looking for him.

Thanks, Anthin. The shots were easy, I just let the pilot do the flying while I clicked away.

It's the Seattle Museum of Flight.

I wish I had gone there,when I lived just
north of there in Surrey B.C. I kept putting
it off, thinking I will drive down later.

You are very lucky to live in that part of the
Pacific Northwest,OAM.Wish I had never left.

Anthin.. :naughty:

Actually, I live north of Philadelphia. Concrete, Wa is just my "home airport" because it looks a lot better than where I do live.

I've been on vacation for a week and a half. I flew to Seattle, visited the Olympic peninsular, and the cascade mountains. For the trip home I took a sleeper car from Seattle. LOTS of pictures!

Tomorrow I'll be back home.

Sorry about that.I somehow got it into my head,
that you lived in Concrete WA.
That first picture is stunning. It reminds me of the
Hope- Princeton highway from Chilliwack to Princeton
BC.My Family ha a summer cabin about half an hours
drive away from Princeton,in Tulameen.

Back to home sweet home now. Time to relax from all that traveling.

The weather was better than average in the Seattle area, cloud wise. But there was still plenty of humidity to mess up loooong range shots of the mountains. I took plenty of shots anyway.

There's no way that I could have covered even 10% of the Olympic National Forest in the time that I had, but you can have a great time with just a couple of drives.

For a brief motorized trip to the area, I think that Port Angels would be a great starting place.

You even have interesting views just driving through town.

If you want to take a tour of the mountains, you can use the company that I used (but call ahead) -
Rite Bro. Aviation 1-800-430-7483 / 360-452-6226

Also near Port Angeles is Hurricane Ridge. It's a VERY scenic 17 mile drive up to the 5,242 foot summit (the highest mountain is just under 8,000 feet).

Depending on the amount of time available you could take a drive past Lake Crescent on the way to the Pacific. Enjoy the trip, you can't go wrong.

Great Shots.
That is quite the trip you are taking.

Of you are into fishing,I bet there are some good size trout and kokanee.
Very cold water though.

I have been to port Angeles.Ferry from Victoria, the Capital
of B.C.

That trip was worth every penny.

As to fishing, I haven't done any for over 55 years.

Here's a shot looking down a street in Concrete, Washington. I have to say that the Orbx scenery looks better than the town does in person. But the area around it is very good.

A few pictures from the train to Philadelphia.

One thing that you can't see is how desolate the open prairie is, even with the huge areas being farmed. With "big agriculture" you can have thousands of acers farmed without any houses around. In that sense, it's like the 1800s again.

The pictures that I have just don't convey how far away everything is.

We make light of the old cowboys hanging hoarse thieves, but if you were left without a horse in many of the places where a train now passes through, you'd be dead within days from lack of water.

That's it for the pictures, I don't want the Mods beating me with rubber hoses. :D

Thanks for the photos.I enjoyed looking at them.
Those Prairie shots do show how difficult it would have
been, to travel through, back in the old days.

As for fishing.I was not really the fishing type, being
totally allergic to fish and seafood.Loved just puttering
around on the lakes in a runabout.

As I go over many of the pictures that I took, I find that I do have one more picture to show.

The concrete airport is dead as dead can be on a Monday morning so there isn't much to show. I'll leave it with this one.

Please note the weather, it really was great. :D
