Good evening all... <<q

Some Good News:

http://www.trentonian.ca/2016/11/16/lan ... nal-museum

Now this Lancaster flew several missions with the Handley Page Halifax now in the museum and the only complete Halifax in the world I know of.

They both flew missions on March 24th and 31st in 1945.

Now we have learned two more almost complete (one is complete) have been found and one is a Royal Canadian Air Force Halifax.

Now if we could only get this one to the museum...

Thanks Trucker, I enjoyed the info especially about the CL 44. I had heard about it but never had the particulars on it. What a fantastic aircraft. Thanks for your time and effort to bring this to our attention.

Cheers Doug, I have never seen a CL 44 but have watched the Britannia many many times at different air shows, It was nicknamed the Whispering Giant https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bristol_Britannia

Cheers

Shame the Halifax & Lanc will only be gathering dust in a hangar. :(

The CL-44 used to operate out of Gatwick when I worked there. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tradewinds_Airways#/media/File:Canadair_CL-44D-4_G-AWDK_Tradewinds_LGW_18.05.74_edited-3.jpg
