Strange, and unusual!

Parallel Runways:
Whenever I have approached KSFO Airport in passenger jets in my Flight Sims, I have always been instructed to only use 28R for landing and take off.
Approaching from the South Bay, San Mateo Bridge.
...never 28L. (28L is the shorter of the two).

Yes Fozzer, San Fran 28 L is only 11,300 feet long. When you approach in your beloved Cessna 150 it must look like a postage stamp! LOL That is the runway that I use when I fly into San Fran. I really enjoy the local scenery there and the water all around, the bridges, etc etc. Very nice area to fly around and see the sights.

.... :D ....!

Most of my daily explorations have taken place in and around KSFO and the Bay area since my; "Flight Unlimited II" days...
...the base for my Cessna 172 was always at Half Moon Bay airfield [KHAF]!
"FU II" in 1997 (before Microsoft FS '98!) started my fascination with all things relating to California and the Pacific Coast!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flight_Unlimited_II

The "noise abatement rules" regarding take-off and landing at KSFO means that I must remember NOT to tune in the ATC if I wish to use any of the four runways of MY choice!
Otherwise ATC will always direct me to 28R incoming!
The take-off from 28R takes one over San Bruno where strict noise restrictions occur.
...does anyone remember the deadly San Bruno Gas Pipe Explosion in 2010...I followed it in the daily news at the time!...>>>

Livermore, [KLVK], is a nice, friendly airfield to start an exploration of Central Valley, and Byron Airfield [C83], east of Livermore, is ideal for my little Cessna 150 flights...just watch out for Glider operations in the area!!

...and don't forget to overfly the infamous* Altamont Speedway Stadium at the 580/205 road junction...>>>

*The Rolling Stones Concert!...>>> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Altamont_Free_Concert

Lots of interesting stuff in and around California!... ..!
