Missing Drone

Postby Colt17752 » Tue Apr 19, 2016 1:00 am

Right so I don't know if flying RC's are considered real aviation or not because it's not technically piloted from the air but anyway....

So earlier I was flying my RC and well.... it kind of got lost. I was flying it up above the trees and we have some pretty tall pines around here. I'm estimating I had it up around 100 feet then suddenly the wind dragged it west (I was 142 feet from the tree line when it disappeared)

Now this wasn't one of those super high tech RC's it had no orientation camera, just one that takes pictures records, has a throttle and yoke.

Any ideas on how I can find it? I'm trying trajectory and all of that but I'm probably doing my math way wrong because it puts the drone 9 feet on the other side of the tree line. I can only give assumptions about the drone and not solid facts so I'm really hoping estimates are good enough.

Again, I have no idea if this is in the right forum or not, hopefully it is but if it's not please move it! :D

Do you live anywhere near Heathrow? If so, you might have made the news yesterday!
