A short history of American AAR. It was nice of them to briefly mention those crazee Brits who invented to system used by the majority of the worlds AAR customers - and the sensible chaps of the USN and USMC!

My grandfather was awarded the MBE for his part in the development (it hangs proudly on the wall in my house), he was involved in modifying the Vulcan that was used during testing.

Sad to say, that is all I know. He was a man of few words. I would love to have found out more, but sadly, that opportunity is now many years past, how ever, this is what we wanted me to have after he passed:

It was good work - th HDU in the back of everything up to the Voyager was essentially the same as that put in all three V-Bombers (V-Tankers?). It was generally pretty reliable too - it was just a shame that one of its main users, the dirty Herc, was so slow!
