Maxwell AFB aircraft

I am interested in what aircraft were stationed at Maxwell AFB in the fifties and sixties. I periodically scour the internet, I have written to the public relations office and history department at Maxwell, and worn out the research section of our local library ... to no avail. It was a bomber training base in WWII, and since the late sixties the Air War College and Fairchild Library have been its major function, but there's virtually no information about the twenty year span in between.

My father was stationed there from '46 til his retirement in '57 (excepting a tour in England during the Korean War), and we lived in the area for many years; most of our health care, grocery shopping, etc. was done on base, and I spent many hours in the Fairchild Library and the base library. But we rarely went near the hangar and runway areas. Most of the photos I've found, from any era, concentrate on the administration buildings, hospital, barracks, and general grounds, not the "Air Force" part of the facility. I have found reference to certain aircraft being at the base, and a few photos of visiting aircraft, but absolutely nothing regarding what aircraft were actually stationed there during this time.

Hopefully someone can make me feel completely inept by posting a link to a site with an encyclopedic history of Maxwell and dozens of contemporary color photos. But even a list of aircraft would be greatly appreciated.
