I actually got to fly in the Duxford Blenhiem before her second crash in the early 90's........Still got the pictures somewhere and if I think hard about it I can still get the same gentleman problem I got during the trip too

Many thanks for this pictures, waiting for another airworthy Blenheim.

The next airworthy Blenheim ([cough]Bolingbroke[/cough]) will be the same one as the last airworthy one, albeit with some cosmetic surgery involving a nose job, to resemble a Mk1.

We're very lucky that some people with foresight were around in the 70s to rescue the airframes, and luckier still that some were bought by US collectors and stored in warm and dry California!

Although very advanced for its time, the Blenheim was outdated by the start of World War II. Much like the US Navy's Brewster Buffalo carrier fighter, some consider it the best bomber of the pre-war era, some consider it the worst bomber to serve in World War II. It's all a matter of perspective (though I personally prefer to look at it as a fine pre-war airplane).
