I was maybe wanting to go somewhere for a week or two, over Christmas,, just for a change of scenery.
So, I looked into going to Las Vegas, "thought" (boy was I wrong), I could find a decent deal, including Hotel and Airfare for a 7 to 10 day stay,, anywhere from $500.00 to $850.00 ,, boy was I wrong and off base !
I didn't find any deals anywhere, unless ya wanna stay so far up the strip to the North or South, that you'd have to actually HIKE with a back pack to be near the center of the strip.
The cheapest I found, flying coach with a stop in Denver, or Chicago, for an hour or longer then on to vegas, was about $1500.00 round trip and upwards to $3000.00 or better.
Geshhh over Christmas, I just thought they'd be damn near givin airfares in 1/2 and hotel rooms, not the case tho.
I once went from Kansas City to Los Angeles - Round Trip - for $180.00 coach on Eastern Airlines, but that was back in 1987,,, ya I know like 20 sum odd years ago,,,
but my how times have changed, with all these mergers and consolidations and buy outs of the airlines and all the Hotel Casino's being bought , sold, demolished and new Mega Casino's being built, I guess nothing is reasonable anymore, its no wonder their hurtin.
even checked RENO, Nevada, for a deal,,, nothing,, it was worse than Vegas, and I don't care for Laughlin.
Wouldn't mind Wendover, Nevada, but apparently the airlines that were servicing Wendover Nevada, quit servicing that town years ago, apparently not making enough revenue to make it worth their while.
Gesshhh, think i'll just Stay at home and Fly there on a Boeing 707 or 737, or L-1011 for FREE !!!!!
Maybe even 1 of my Lockheed Constellation L-1049's and, I can drink whatever I want, Smoke up a Storm, cuss, EAT anything I want, kick back, NO Bags to carry on' NO Security to deal with, no waiting, no getting screwed around at the Casino Hotel, and I won't have to spend hardly any money !!
Yip, I'm goin to Vegas NON STOP, right from my FSX Flight Simming Computer in any Freaking Airplane I want, matter of FACT, I'm gonna take my Airplane Jetliner, and Buzz that Rascal right down the center of the Las Vegas Strip - bout' 5 feet off the ground, right in front of all those Casino Hotels, - and - the best part of it,, for FREE !!!!
Find me an Airline to pull that stunt off without getting into trouble !!
All Aboard, Flight leaves in a few minutes, gonna see Vegas like you've never seen it before - IF - we survive the low pass down the center of the Strip ??
