Many of my daily Flight Sim flights in and around California are often carried out in the nearby Owens Valley, Nevada, the site of many Hollywood Cowboy, etc, Films!
Like many films of its type, a handy place for "desert scenes", not far from the Film Studios in Los Angeles!

(I often Google; "Film Locations" for various films for me to visit in the Flight Sim, and many of them are filmed in California and Nevada)

I have passed Manzanar, on Highway 395, between Bishop and Lone Pine (Laurel and Hardy!), many times in my Sim flights up and down the Owens Valley, and never noticed it!
Sad times in the past!
It appears to be completely deserted now, on the Google Satellite Map!

(I suspect you have some past experience of this?)

I did not personally, but my parents did, to some degree. My mother and her family spent some time at the Portland Stockyards, my father and his family at Santa Anita Racetrack. These places were used as Assembly Centers until the camps were constructed, then the internees were moved there.

My parents were able to find work in Brighton, CO working the Sugar Beet fields, they found a 'sponsor' willing to vouch for them, and moved there in '44.They moved to Denver after the War, and made roots here ever since.
