FAA expected to officially change electronics rule this week.Soon you'll be able to use your laptop to take off in a flight sim as your plane is taking off!
Finally, we won’t have to power off during takeoff and landing . .. .

Effing stupid if you ask me and it will end up in court and cost a lot of money...........
"It was reported that the aircraft accelerated as normal, but the take off was aborted. The crew applied maximum braking to bring the aircraft to a halt. Some passengers reported being hit by flying hand held devices etc"..........................
Just wait, there are lawyers already prepping the paperwork, just names, times and airline to fill in............

The possibility of loose objects is the only problem here. The reason you can't play with your gadgets now is fears of them interfering with the plane's avionics, and everybody's known for some time that isn't actually a problem.

A little complimentary velcro and UFOs wouldn't be a problem. (Unwanted Flying Objects). The same thing is in hospitals. I got a call in a hospital by accident and got read the riot act by some old grouchy nurse. Airlines sell earphones and have onboard entertainment. They don't want anyone stepping on their perks. The reason I brought up hospitals is because they rent TVs and phones to patients. Allowing devices in would step on profits. 10 years ago I rented a TV for my wife at 18$ a day and and a phone at 12$ plus user fees. I see their resistance as financial..
