Calm down, JetRanger. We don't need that sort of language here. A shame, all the same.

What language???

Did I wander into Mister Rogers' Neighborhood?

JetRanger, you're looking at this all wrong. These people don't see themselves as vandals. They look upon it as art.

To them, their art has great value and enriches the world that we live in.

I'm of the opinion the we should help them in a significant way.

So lets ask ourselves "Why is art valuable"? The answer is: it's scarcity. If Rembrandt or Picasso produced 100 paintings a month for their entire adult life, what would we have? A whole bunch of cheap pretty paintings.

So it IS the scarcity that makes the artwork valuable.

And we can help these people increase the value of their art by removing, in a humane way, their reproductive organs.

So open your heart and become a little more understanding. If we work together, we can make this a better world. ^-^

Blimey!... ...!

Van Nuys AFB

What a mess!

...It just goes to show how easy it is for undesirables to gain access to a Airfield and get up to all sorts of mischief!....

...and a Military one, at that!

I bet they will be reviewing their security arrangements after that little lot!

Ouch, I thought they were supposed to tag worthless abandoned buildings, not million-dollar jets!

Whats troubling about this is the fact that if someone with spraypaint can breach the security of that airport, whats going to stop a terrorist who wants to gain access to steal an aircraft for a 911 replay?

Fozzer, Van Nuys (KVNY), is a public airport which was once used by the air national guard from about the late 1940's up until the 90's I believe.

I know... ;) ...

..the thing is...even though some of them have been closed down or re-classified, all of the airfields in my FS 2004 are still classified, and appear as Military air bases, where applicable... :D ...

Hamilton AFB, Alameda NAS, Van Nuys AFB, etc, etc...

Hamilton AFB and Alameda NAS have long since been decommissioned, and now are industrial estates, even though they still appear as operational airfields in my FS 2004, and Van Nuys has a very interesting history when it was used as a busy military Air Force base!

Just for California...>>> http://members.tripod.com/airfields_fre ... eCo_SE.htm
Its fascinating, searching for these long disappeared airfields!

Nothing is going to stop a terrorist as 100% security does not exist. All an action like this does is get some poor person fired because they were not patrolling two places at once or watching 30 camera monitors at once. The blame as usual will be put on the shoulders of some poor sod who is on minimal wage and who was probably having a legal toilet break or such like. :?

As an aircraft technician, I have to go through the whole dance every day to gain access to the ramp. My car is checked, I have to have everything in my pockets x-rayed and I am "wanded" before I get access to the ramp. All metal has to be checked and verified and that I can carry it / them in accordance with my ramp pass. The irony is, all I need to bring down a cigar tube is a roll of sellotape.....................Sort of makes the dance with metal detectors a bit pointless. At the end of the day it is just a game that has to be played to keep people in a office some place happy and content. The point of security is to put the person off who is looking in. Nothing more, nothing less......
