Looks like a Cirrus inside and out, minus that telltale Cessna vertical stabilizer!

It should actually look more like a Columbia 400, Cessna purchased the Columbia line years ago, this is an evolution of that airplane.

For me....brought up on a selection of; "high wing" Cessnas,... .... it really was quite a surprise to see a new; "low wing" baby Cessna.... ....!

It looks very smart....but its certainly a lot more expensive than a second-user Cessna 150/152 Trainer!... ....!

I'm not very clued up on light aircraft an if I was asked what it was I'd come out with a few suggestions but would never have thought of Cessna.

A Cessna is a Cessna and the single have always looked like variations of a theme.

Enormously expensive, (3/4 mill $) if aimed as a low-wing Cessna Trainer!... ...!

It would be interesting to contemplate what a brand-new, sensibly priced/equipped, direct equivalent, to the venerable high-wing Cessna 150/152 Trainer, would cost in today's money?

I've always felt safe, suspended under that high-wing Umbrella!.... ...!

The cost is pretty normal for modern aircraft. That said, the Columbia line had a lot of problems in its past. Only time will tell if Cessna can get it working.

Now that the dear old, faithful, Cessna 150/152 Trainer for the various flying clubs is getting bit long in the tooth now, (and maybe running out of time), and could be purchased for the same price as a quality motor car at one time, I wonder what equivalent, low-cost, practical trainer aircraft will take its place?

The Cessna TTx looks far too expensive to me!... ...!

Old 172s mostly. Or any number of light sports, like Pipistrels.

New 172s still sell fairly well to flight schools considering their price, and Cessna still makes a bunch of them so over time the price will become reasonable on the used market

The TTx is far from a trainer, it's a high performance single. The fastest prodution single piston money can buy, so you certainly don't want anew pilot in one!

It always seems a shame that Cessna dropped the 2-seater 150/152 Trainers. They were perfectly balanced for the job and very popular with everyone....(172= nose-heavy, thirsty, and expensive for the job)!

While the Cessna TTX might look like a Cirrus, I doubt it can equal the overall performance of the SR22. I actually owned an early SR20 (4 cyl Lycoming), full glass cockpit 4 place and swore it would kick the pants off the Cessna 172 trainers. At less than $200,000 complete with training schedule, a bargain at the time. Yes it had its problems, but they are all sorted out now with the Latest SR22. Worst problem was wing icing on the composite wing surface giving cause to quite a few parachute deployments. I doubt even a brand new Cirrus SR22 would cost anywhere near ¾ mill.
