The last flight me and the room wife were on, They had a video screen, once every ten minutes or so they showed a bit of GPS style that showed the aircrafts position, airspeed and ETA. I am thinking it was a Westjet 727.. Not sure.
I would love to see full time video from the cockpit when I fly. It really wouldn't cost much to do. But the first airline to do it would be my go to Airline. I'm wondering though.. what you think cheap and easy things are that airlines could do to make flying more fun.

Have run this by several of our children who are flying Military Reserve and Canada's Number 1 Carrier, they smiled and I think they agreed with me.

(1) Increase dear old dad's Airline Pension so dad can buy:
(a) a new Land Rover...about $141,000.00
(b) dad will have more Scotch Whisky to drink
(c) dad will be able to go to Hamilton Ontario and fly in most of the Canadian Warplane Aircraft once a month
(d) dad can send the old girl around the world or even to the Space Station for a year or two

(2) The airlines can push for equipment to be Made In Canada...that would be a plus and I do believe the government is
now looking at that.
Great Idea.

(3) The airlines can stop flying over my home during mid-afternoon as the noise wakes me from my nap.

(4) How about adult flights only...now there is a good one...ever listen to a baby scream for several hours during a flight.

(5) Free drinks to all Seniors, I like that one also.

I think those few items would make flying and retirement a lot more fun for me Steve.

Yes they have been the main headline on television and in the news all day.

I like the idea they are buying Canadian made aircraft from Bombardier who make some of the finest aircraft in the world...

Hope they get that runway extension they want.

Their service is excellent.

The Government of Canada has been talking about building our own military aircraft and the opposition parties are all for that also.
Great idea, we build our own ships and some armored vehicles, it is about time we built our own military aircraft again...

Be warned that they shall lose pitch. Porter Q400 on your picture is single class, and 34´´ pitch. They specify that their CS100 shall be two classes - and 107 seats.

CS100 at 107 seats will probably not fit over 32´´ pitch.

Then again, CS100 cattle seats are wider than DC-9 or B737.

Thanks for running the numbers chorn, I think your right on with that. At present Porter is a commuter airline and are looking to go international. Maybe they are joining the leagues and forgetting the human comfort factor..

On the ongoing Aircraft Interiors Expo, everybody and their dog are crawling out of woodwork with newer and lighter cattle class seats.

claims 11 kg for "long haul" cattle seat, 7,5 kg for shorthaul, if I interpret this right:

Avio aims to cut the weight of a typical long-haul economy class seat by 3kg (6.6lb) to around 11kg with the new design, says Santero. It will also be employed for short- and medium class seats, although Santero expects the weight savings in this category to be no greater than 1.5kg per passenger.

The manufacturer's basic economy class seat weighs currently around 9kg.

I understand that the seats are included in "OEW", but not in "MEW". How do you estimate the weight of interior in Simviation?

The 107 seats Porter interior would come out logically at 12J+95Y.
