According to NBC News, the USAF has officially grounded the USAF Thunderbirds for the 2013 airshow season as well as canceled all demos and displays.

The USN/USMC appears to be following suite but so far has only canceled the April shows for the Blue Angels.

I should add too that already many airshows that were headlining military performances are canceling. This is going to be a rough summer.

"Blue Angels shows scheduled in more than two dozen cities between April and September are expected to be canceled as part of the cuts, said the team's spokeswoman, Lt. Katie Kelly. The Navy intends to cancel the four shows in April -- in Tampa, Fla.; Corpus Christi, Texas; Vidalia, Ga.; and Beaufort, S.C."

Maybe now the British spotters and enthusiasts who moan about the lack of RAF display support will stop whinging and realise how lucky they are "only" having the Typhoon, Tucano, Chinook, BBMF and Red Arrows this year...

How will RIAT cope now there'll be 15 fewer Hercs in the static  (that's if RIAT still goes ahead of course)
