Who doesn't listen to the safety briefing before take-off. I've done it myself (I'm ashamed to say) so share this around, it is a rather interesting read...

What we all want to do on our train journeys, is to sit at the window seat, facing forward.

..but on my train journeys in the olden-day trains, long ago; ...single compartments, with bench seats, one facing forwards, and one facing backwards....

...I always thought how much better my survival would be, in the event of a collision, if I sat facing backwards...or better still...lying down, horizontal on the seat, facing backwards, legs and feet clear of the floor, with no-one else in the compartment to collide with me!

The good thing about trains, as opposed to aeroplanes....they are already quite near to the ground at the time of the disaster...

Paul.... ;)...!

P.S...don't ask me to test my theory!... :o...!

I have always loved the way people pay more for a first class ticket on a train or plane so they can die sooner than the rest of us in the event of an accident ;D ;D ;D

Economy class passengers get taken away in a dump truck, together with the tail section.
