Not sure I agree with the American way of thinking. Criminal negligence should be a thing for the courts not the aviation authorities. Since the first day I entered aviation it was and has been impressed upon me that my signature can send me to prison. Just because pilots work a little closer to God than the rest of us does not make them one. If they kill or injure in the undertaking of their job (me to for that matter) my should we not be made responsible for our action as everyone else is.
