Not long now. A lot of hard work from people all over the world has got them this far.

And before anybody asks how much of the original wood was used in the restoration... ;) ;D

As if there was any wood left!

By the way, I heard of another Mosie getting restored to flight status that will eventually be in the US. I think it is being restored in Canada though. I remember reading that the restorers are itching to bring it to Oshkosh for its debut though.

By the way, another excellent restoration (one-of-a-kind):

NZ seems to be very found of warbirds, keep them coming Kiwis! 8-)

We have a lot of warbirds here, but it seems most fall into a black hole of private ownership. I guess there is a healthy population of warbirds here in Michigan, but they are extremely rare to see. The owners just dont fly them or share them. The L-39 next to WACO is part of an airshow team called "The Hoppers" so I have seen it a dozen or so times, but the Stearman and T-28 from Muskegon? Nope. Only times I saw those was when I was in the bloody hanger. NEVER saw one of the P-51/F-51s that supposedly is in Michigan. There is a Corsair at KAZO next to WACO's King Air, yet I have never seen or hear it fly or heard of it flying.

Point is, warbirds here fall into a black hole.

This is the Canadian one that went to NZ for restoration and is going to eventually join Jerry Yagen's Fighter Factory collection in Virginia.

There is another that's been under restoration in Canada for yonks, at Vancouver. I doubt it's ever had the same level of funding, and if you look on the web now, it looked like KA114 does now a decade ago!
