Just a thought, is it possible the aircraft with a loss of coms and power managed to ditch like the US Air flight into NY Hudson river and then sink intact before any one could evacuate. I know it's unlikely but at this stage I guess anything is possible.

FR24 have not tracked any emergency squawk alerts for flight MH370 before we lost coverage of the aircraft. Playback for flight MH370 is available on

If the crew and passengers became incapacitated for some reason (decompression), I wonder how far a triple 7 would continue to fly under Autopilot?

Its been known before!

I'm probably wrong, but,,,,,

everybodys assuming it crashed, into the sea possibly

2 people with stolen passports on the exact same flight and young and both have the names Hussein ??????

Chances of that happinin' are about like me hittin every number on the Roulette Wheel 25 times !

Aircraft had bout' 7.5 to 8 hrs. of Fuel - I was looking around Google Earth , and Pakistan ain't that far away, and the "Swat Valley" is a Taliban hold out.

Wouldn't surprise me, if these 2 yung'ens, were tricked or corced or bribed into stealing this jetliner and thoroughly trained before hand on what to do.

Fly Jet to a remote Airstrip they been building, unload the passengers hide the plane, off the passengers and spend a few months getting the plane ready for a more sinister whatever.

Who remembers the Pop Machine - in the Sum of all Fears ?????

Remember what it did at the Stadium in Baltimore !

I probably watch too much TV,,,, but,,, what if ????

The George Device , Trinity, Operation Wigwam, Operation Cross roads,,,,,

Stay away from Pop Machines I guess : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-h_xgdM8FI

The Media is fishing for copy, plain and simple.

The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) said that "Aviation investigators and national security officials believe the plane flew for a total of five hours, based on data automatically downloaded and sent to the ground from the Boeing 777's engines as part of a routine maintenance and monitoring program." RR and Boeing have actually said nothing to that effect, saying "We continue to monitor the situation and to offer Malaysia Airlines our support," a Rolls-Royce representative said Wednesday, declining further comment." and "The disappearance is officially now an accident and all information about this is strictly handled by investigators," said a Rolls-Royce executive who declined to be named, citing rules of the International Civil Aviation Organization, a United Nations agency."

See, this is the problem... as this tragedy unfolds over the coming days, the Media is rapidly running out of ideas, trends and topics to keep the 24 hour news machine fed and happy. They will go to anyone even remotely connected with the goings on (read: the driver of the Limo that transports the Malaysian authorities around, for example), try and needle him for information, and pass that along as info coming from 'someone with close ties to the Investigation'.

It's only going to get worse and worse as the days go on. To be honest, this is the ONLY thing that's known...

The airplane disappeared off the scope, with no prior warning or indication of trouble, at Waypoint IGARI around 1:07 AM Local Time...

Malaysian Defence Radar at Western Hill Penang claim to have tracked the plane for a further 200 miles after the last civilian contact. They are not saying what direction. It's my guess that their new digital defence radar isn't up to what they claim. Maybe they lost contact 200miles before the civilian radar did and they don't want to reveal it's inadequacies. I'd love to know what the Defence radars at Kuantan and Kuching can reveal. If they all got their heads together surely they could get a good triangulation?

May I remind everyone that it took five days before the first bit of wreckage was found from the Air France Airbus. We had to sit through the same bullshit in the media along with the same Internet nut job theories. All in all most disrespectful and laughable at the same time. There are going to be a lot people with egg on their collective faces. The most unfortunate thing about that is that said people are so full of themselves they wont care...............

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Without adding to any speculation, and looking at the radar arcs of the Malaysian ATC, IGARI pretty much marks the edge of their radar cover (effectively being their FIR boundary), so this wouldn't be abnormal - just like any traffic leaving the US east coast heading across the pond. Having no experience of Vietnamese ATC in that oceanic area, being out of ATC contact, and off anyone's (civil) scope, could be quite normal.

I wish I could provide a link, but I'm too lazy. A media outlet, or two, reported that the missing passenger cell phones were still ringing through. Myth.. Cell phones dial tone comes from a hub that transmits the dial tone and please leave a message. 8)
