Sometimes it feels like the weather it is just doing it all too bother us, i was standing all geared up ready too jump into the C208 for my first jump, everbody all over excited, and then we heard a heavy thunderstorm was speeding our way, turned out it was about as heavy as it would get this year over here, i had to cycle through it too, we went for shelter though, wasnt really safe moving on.

Eventualy we made the first jump, although the wind was a little rough(many off-zonelandings) it still was a blast, i'd say aviation is worth waiting on. :)

Oh nice. I dread the day when I have to leave my aircraft whilst its above the ground  ;D

I was completely naffed off when my mum and I had to go into town 10 minutes after we got back from the expedition to see clear skies. Drat.

2fst4u.... Oh yeh, theres something in my cadet magazine about cadets in New Zealand. Our squadron is likely to be in the Cadet magazine soon- fundraising type stuff.

Heh yeah, you aint got time to worry about heights though, you slide into the doorway, one bottom outside of the plane, the hands on the door and floor sides, then the jumpmasters says ready, you go yes, then he says go, and you push yourself away as you fall from the plane you see it growing smaller, then the chute deploys and your on your own, although then it get's fun, once flew all over the airfield and had 500ft left before entering the landing circuit, so i could do a spin or 2 extra. That jump was around 5500FT, the clouds were beautifull, i reckon somewhere between 1000 and 1500ft high, i soared just past them, litteraly skimming there edge.

haha, it is pleasant!! Although when you realize that all your hanging in are the legstraps.... ;). And offcourse, a misstake on the landing could break your legs.

Giant metal poles through yer knee caps? ouch. Breaking my collar and fracturing the disk in my elbow was bad enough

-I dont like this whole jumping from heights >4 metre  type thing  :-/

Ah lucky you, you will enjoy practicing the pararoll ;D. You jump from about 2/3 feet high on the ground and roll over.
