if it is a uniform inspection, make sure you are wearing plain black socks as it is apart of the uniform. remove any jewelery from neck or fingers. watches are allowed but dont wear it unless u realy have to, especialy if its short sleave order.

Always wear plain black socks, that way you'll never get caught out! I doubt you wear rings, so that shouldn't be a problem either, but unless you have a very anal sqn then wear a watch (as long as it isn't too garish!) - being on time/knowing the time is far more important (although for official parades then remove it - in the RAF proper you can't even wear glasses for an official parade!). The other thing you may want to consider if you're staying in the cadets for a while is to pop down to a surplus shop/Silvermans etc and buy a second pair of shoes - that way you can have a good pair and one that you wear for normal cadet nights/activities. Saves a lot of hassle trying to polish them if you've been doing general stuff in them! ;D

iron pockets flat as well.

Undo the pocket flaps and iron them seperately. :)

The secret is practice, and not letting your mum do them (which made it a lot easier when I joined up! ;D)
