They are the extremely expensive David Clark active, noise cancelling, aviation headphones, and the mention of drilling, or filling up holes in the ear-cups would lead to instant banishment from the Aero Club... :o...!

Ha!  I thought David Clark was a forum member you were addressing your question to, not a brand.  I guess you can tell that my only exposure to airplanes is through the computer.  Except perhaps for a couple airline flights a year where the toddler kicking the back of your seat is more of a concern than hearing protection.
