After posting Fiat 3-51, I have seen the white arrows, paint availability in war scenery you are right...But I'm old enough to remember the red...

I have Primaversi's files, they are a little mess, because he made a light file but then is necessary to copy lots of files.

Because Primaversi seems not being active, if I have time, I'll try to compile a pack and I'll ask the Admin. if is possible to upload it here.

Guadiana and Guadalquivir are two big spanish rivers.
The aircraft were bought to Lufthansa, Iberia had 60 or 70 Ju 52, total not confirmed.

Last two posts from a cell pone, but arrived at home and I can confirm red as most accurate colour of the arrows and yoke. Sometimes colours in museums, drawings and models have mistakes.

The most reliable source is the Spanish Air Ministry publishing book: "Civil war aircraft gallery", from historian-painter Juan Abellán. The drawings there have red arrows.

The top scoring ace Joaquín García Morato y Castaño, achieved 36 of his 41 victories flying the same aircraft, number 3-51. On April 1939, three days after the war had ended while performing low inverted aerobatics on his faithful 3-51, García Morato crashed to his death.

Finally repainted the Falange emblem red, and it seems when viewing B&W photos of that era, that could acount for the black dot seen after Nationalists won. Red in B&W film can be seen as black, or very dark. Papituwall is going to be happy!!

Here Guadiana is visiting Duxford, strange mixture with Golden Wings 3 of the 30's era, with aircraft from WWII & commercial airlines fron the 50's... but, since Herr Einstein found the Time so Relative, who am I to contradict such theory??

I hope you speak "castellano", for I blogged what happened around my seventh birthday, to earn my first flight that day: http://mil-usos-descalzo.blogspot.mx/20 ... -1950.html

While I was seating on his lap, my uncle Otto (ex-commando) was piloting & telling me the Guadiana river story: it is a river that dies (goes underground), to be reborn stronger (like he said I would). Suposedly, acording to the doctors that burned my digestive tract with excesive medicine dosage, I was going to die. Instead of the final solution so popular among germans in those days (to inject morphine so I would go to sleep without any fuss), he had a friend in Madrid that had learned tibetan medicine. That flight saved my life, and when I was 13, mexican food is what my stomach needed after being burned, to compleatly heal. BUT I will never forget that year with rice & more rice & more rice, plus all the watter I could drink. No candy nor chocolate nor eggs: all that was deadly!! until I reached México. I am not very fond of rice any more!!

Remember this image I posted starting this mess conversation?

Seems like they were repainting it, I just found this (almost same) image:

One can only do his best on this matters, so far I am leaving the Falange red, for the B&W photo should be red, yellow would have been very clear, almost white. Papituwall also has very serious info that I respect, the cast model of Iberia's Guadalquivir could have an error:
