One of the guys at lowfly.net saw it and identified it as a Silvaire

Pilot walked away, no passengers fortunately  :o

If the pilot walked away from it was this a crash or a forced landing? I can't read your link to lowfly.net as I'm not a member.

Sorry Doug, I didn't realise that it was in one of the member sections.

That's no forced landing.....text from the post says:

Pilot safe, walking wounded. Kept a/c low to avoid fog, turned out of the Bwlch towards Cad and lost control! Crashed into a tree!

Pilot walked away,

Steve, looking at the photo, I think you'll find he climbed out! ;D

I wonder if it was the UKs most famous Luscombe owner. Whether he'd ventre as far as the principalities is another atter though.

Whoever he was, it sounds as though he got himself into a right mess... :-?

I don't have a clue who it was (PM your guesses to me on the back of a stuck down envelope  ;) ). I know from looking at what I can see of the reg that it was neither of the two resident at Sleap......but it will have ruined someone's day  :(

Still, just lucky to be ok I suppose

whoops, question is, was he playing around in the loop and not quite ready for the bad weather, or just trundling along away from it, and happend to get into trouble at that point.

If you're a civvy and got any sense you avoid the loop at all costs unless it's the weekend. A puddle jumper at 100kts in the loop is a disaster waiting to happen.

Glad he's OK, but my first thought is: scud-running.    :(
But of course it's too early to say...
Question: is that airspace restricted (down to the surface)?
