The Japanese tried it at the end of the war in the Pacific.  US sailors dubbed it the Baka Bomb, (there was actually a model of it, Monogram I think ), which was Japanese for "foolish" or "idiot". Couldn't get the link, but if you Wikipedia
"Baka Bomb" you can read about it. Toward the end of the war the Luftwaffe tried ramming American bombers. the pilots would bail out afterwards.  Needless to say the Luftwaffe pilots were more intelligent than the Japanese. Neither plan worked so we won the war. Oh well, history is a gas.
