San Diego 1978 PSA Crash

Postby raptorx » Thu Sep 25, 2008 2:06 pm

Just a note.

Today is the 30th anniversary of the crash of PSA flight 182 in San Diego, where I've lived my whole life.  I remember that day, a freshman at Monte Vista High School.  I was in geography class.

I always respected the severity of plane crashes but since I started simming, I can better understand what those pilots went through.  No aileron function to pull the plane out of the roll, even if there was any lifting ability left in the wing.  I'm not a real pilot but it's obvious there's no recovery from that kind of damage.

Very somber day today in SD.
