Who's up for Owl's Head?

Postby beaky » Sun May 18, 2008 1:04 pm

Kind of a crazy idea, but I've always wanted to attend this event... I'm not current in any planes locally at the moment (and I doubt there's time for me to get a checkout and feel confident about a long XC with pax to a new airport), but maybe a coupla you NYC-area types might want to share driving chores to go check this out?

It's about 7 hrs by car from NYC, which means driving overnight... but on Mem. Day Wknd that's probably a better idea, anyway. Even with just two people it would be an easy drive, in 2 or 3hr shifts. I have Monday off, so no worries getting home at any particular time.

I've been to the airshow there once, my aunt lives just minutes away.  Its pretty neat, especially if you are into WWI and earlier type aircraft.   Several of them are still airworthy, at least as much as they ever were.
