Aloha bankruptcy... what you dont know

Postby RitterKreuz » Fri Apr 04, 2008 7:54 pm

or what you might not know.

in 2006 Aloha announced the need for financial bail outs and was seeking investors.

Mesa Air group, owners of mesa airlines and (what would become GO!) announced their intention to invest in and bail out the inter island carrier.

Mesa air group exercised their right as a potential investor to obtain secret economic data from the inter island carriers.

through the revelation of this data, Mesa air group was able to determine the "bottom line" for aloha and Hawaiian airlines.

Mesa airlines did not invest.

Now all Mesa air group had to do was insert "GO!" airlines, and engage in a predatory pricing scheme that would force the other inter island carriers out of business.

there are currently lawsuits in progress... as a potential investor who exercises the right to obtain private business data from the company you seek to invest in... you are not allowed to use that information for competitive purposes for a period of 2 years.

Mesa air group (GO!) still had many months remaining on their statute  of limitations regarding the use of private data for competition purposes.

In short... Mesa airlines (the prostitute of the airline world) cheated their way to the top.  >:(

Precisely....

I had hoped that I would never have to say this but:
I wish that Aloha Airlines was still with us!

Aloha was an excellent airline.
