The Dubai-based airline is buying 70 of Airbus' mid-sized A350 model, and 11 Airbus A380 twin-deck super jumbos.


OMG! Are they crazy that will take a longo time! :o A350 hasn't even been started if i am correct

Yep - and a business there size will be planning well into the future... :)

Big order yes, but to be fair to that airline it's pennies really. The big question now seems, will they dump their 777's and other boeings they might have and become an all airbus fleet.

I really don't get EK...What's the point of buying so many aircraft? They currently fly to only around 70 or so destinations. What's the point of having 200+ aircraft in your fleet if you're not going to use them? Besides, in recent years, the quality of service in EK for Y class (the average persons class) has begun to plummet at a startling rate...Seems to me that they offer their highest levels of comfort to only F Class now...Even J class has been seeing a recent downfall in service although with their new 777-300ER's and 777-200LR's, they seem to have upped the level of service by a small notch...I haven't flown with them in over 3 years now...Much rather use QR with their more comfortable seats and AVOD on all seats... :-/ :-X
