LOP/WOT.... your opinions?

Postby Wingo » Tue Oct 02, 2007 5:23 am

I was looking around on the net the other night for leaning techniques, where I stumbled upon Lean of Peak/Wide Open Throttle operations. Basically this is when you operate the aircraft during cruise with full throttle and use the mixture to control power. Now I'm not the right person to give all the details, so I'll post some links to LOP/WOT operations. Please read through them and let me know your opinion on the topic.

http://www.megginson.com/blogs/lahso/20 ... 3/leaning/ first site I found, good summary and lists the advantages

http://www.taturbo.com/operation.html manufacturer who recommends LOP/WOT (look under cruise) this one is for constant speed props

http://perso.orange.fr/n842cd/bigpond/f ... LOPops.pdf another article by a pilot on LOP/WOT, again for a constant speed

http://www.advancedpilot.com/ finally, this site doesn't give anything specifically, but I do know that they teach LOP/WOT.
