I just got back from my instrument checkride, and in spite of my flying and question answering abilities, I passed!  So, everyone into the airplane, we're headed to Wall Drug for free glasses of ice water - on me of course.

Low ceilings and marginal visibility are no longer a concern of yours  ;)  ... It's a good feeling and an added responsibility, all rolled into one.

Congrats !!

Thanks guys, it really is nice to have passed, but it kind of sucks to not have an excuse to go flying a couple times a week now. :-/ ;)

Okay. :D

Actually, when my CFII gets his Yak-52 in a month or so, I'm going to start doing some aerobatics with him in that, so I'm looking forward to being upside down for awhile. 8-) ;)

It'll be good to be off for awhile, then I can work and make some money to actually pay for flying.

Good call on the aerobatics, buddy.  After the riggors of instrument training it'll be very good for you.  I was totally burned out after my IR and a year later I'm finally getting back into flying. lol  And I too will be learning aerobatics, albeit in something a bit more timid than a Yak!
The day is always better when you're flying upside down.

Thanks again guys.  This is probably a good time for an update as yesterday was the first time I flew in actual conditions all alone.  There was a scattered layer at 700 AGL (although they were reported at 1500 AGL in all the most recent METARS and PIREPS), so when I took off, I got a little nervous that I wouldn't be able to get back home, and I might have to find a ride from Madison.  But it turned out alright, as the lowest clouds were still 100' above the MDAs back into Middleton.  In the first few minutes as I entered the clouds, I realized that instead of my instructor sitting next to me ready to help if I needed it, I had my dad with me, ready to do nothing if I got in a sticky situation.  It really felt like my first solo, but after an initial blunder on the radio when I forgot to repeat the word "cleared" (another pilot asked ATC if that was a "promise clearance", which I don't really understand..), but other than that, everything went really well.  Logged my first PIC time in actual conditions and 2 more ILS's and a GPS approach down to minimums. ;)
