WOW! Lancaster over my head!

What an awesome sight! About 25 minutes ago I heard an almighty growl, rushed to the window only to see the BBMF Lancaster going straight over my house at around 300 feet! Then me and my Dad ran upstairs to the back window to watch it as banked round towards Leicester! Its not the first time i've seen the Lancaster from my house but never this close!

Just south of Leicester, I've seen a Mustang, DC-3, Yak 52, Spitfire and Me-109 Buchon, today... so there!

I do have that, just replace Jet2 with BMI Baby and Cessna 152s. That's a normal day...

Replace BMI baby and C152 with Easyjet and that's what I get

Although the lanc did come over a couple of months back....cool sight  8-)

I would look upon seeing a Lancaster in flight as a rare treat when considering there are only two(?) in flyable condition. The sound must be awesome.

I've seen it twice this year.
First at RAF Coningsby when it was outside the BBMF hangar with its engines running and secondly at RIAT.

Replace them with military  helicopters mainly apaches and seakings thats what i get

Lancaster did a fly by at Nottingham Castle on Saturday and then went off to Duxford so I guess you saw it in between the two. If you'd have been around East Midlands Airport last weekend you'd have seen an awesome display over the airport from the Rolls Royce Spitfire XIX.
