Westland Wasp

Postby Mictheslik » Thu Apr 19, 2007 1:24 pm

I was just out for a walk and what should drive past but a van with a Westland wasp on a trailer behind it :D

It pulled into the local Morrisons car park so I wen't over to have a chat with the driver who explained they were putting it on display until Sunday to raise funds for a restoration.

So If anyone wants to see it it's at Morrisons Fishponds car park until Sunday.

I'll try and get some pics at the week end :D

As Charlie and Hagar will attest to, it's one of my favourite helo's to watch at an airshow. Was the first thing that caught my eye at old warden.

What does a Westland Wasp look like, you ask? hadn't seen one either, but I found this very nice picture of one:

Hey, no problem...  ;D

There's something wonderfully utilitarian about this helicopter... and it must really look strange when taxiing with all four wheels on the ground... a shopping-cart with a serious attitude...  :D
