Realized I have a lot of material here; many entries very short, so I'm going to ramp up the schedule a bit this week....

[ One last flight with E...the "Good luck, guy!" notation in the previous entry was premature; he'd thought that one would be our last together ]


Nice warm day for December, with a bit of sunshine poking through the high deck as we taxi. E. lets me handle all of the controls on takeoff this time; again I let the nose drop a little, but it's not bad for my first full-control takeoff.
Today's lesson: a review of the four fundamentals, some more MCA, then...
Power-off stalls.
Fun!!
In the stall, the 150 shudders a bit, then excuses itself politely and heads downstairs, yawing just a hair to the left as she picks up speed. No big deal.
My second attempt brings us a little too close to a spin- I'm too obsessed with keeping the wings level to remember to use rudder primarily, not ailerons.
I am starting to feel quite at home in this tiny cabin; the rest of the lesson is uneventful. Next time, I'll probably get to try my hand at landing... just have to wait and see.

This time it really is my last lesson with E., and I'm sad to see him go.
The school has two new instructors, but it looks like F. will be taking me on. He seems okay, but I'm worried that I'll have to waste time showing him what I've learned, instead of forging ahead.
A more immediate problem presents itself the following week: I need new winter clothes and boots, the rent is due, and...
I'm broke!!

Now I'm two weeks behind with my lessons... no flying today, with winds gusting past 20 knots, pushing the storm's last few clouds through the area at 3000 feet. Oh well... this is part of a pilot's life. Nothing to do but wait it out.
