[*]09.30.1975 Malev HA-LCI. Officially 'cause unknown'... other sources suggest that it was shot down by pro israeli militias and was carrying weapons.

[*]12.02.1977 Balkan Bulgarian Airlines LZ-BTN. Weather / Crew related (and the Libyan desert where you cant land outside the airports even with the low ground pressure a Tu-154 has)

[*]11.16.1981 Aeroflot Tupolev SSSR-85480. Mechanical failure (first one in the list)

Conclusion: lots of crew error, but mechanically it ist as bad as CNN wants you to believe.
1: Remember that these planes arent flying in the weather and airport conditions that are common in europe and the USA... totally snowed-in airports in the winter are quite common
2: It is NOT an easy aircraft, even the Luftwaffe pilots who flew it said that the systems are very complex.
3: There are some very nasty ATC errors in that list too...
Ever looked at the totally BS KAL007 report on that site. OFFICCIALY everyone died, but there are anonymous sources (Former KGB and someone from the regional health services in that area) that say that a large part of the passengers survived, and were placed in specially monitored villages in the Russian Far East. The important American guy who was onboard was certainly alive a few years after the crash.
