Congratulations and all the best in your future endeavors :D.

Btw, do you mind telling how much is your defective eyesight. Just that I'd feel relaxed cause I wear glasses too and would start my training next year :).

As far as I know (and I could be wrong) that as long as your eye sight can be corrected to 20/20 with glasses then they're not going to stand in your way.

Hey, sorry Ive not been around much recently, I have limited computer access for the present week

Thanks for everyones kind words and I will be sure to keep everyone informed of any developments!

As for the ey sight thing, I dont know my specific figures, I havent had an eye test in aaaages, I am going to get them done and some new glasses before I take my medical exam though as I am sure my prescription has changed considerably since i got my current set of specs! There IS a limit to how bad your eye sight can be, I think I read somehwre it can be no worse than +/-5 diopters (units and spelling!?) and I gather that is quite sever. But I am no optitian so I dont really know enough about it to give you any definate figures. I read that from the description of the medical exam, I do not have all the paperwork with this stuff on with me at the moment, but if i remember correctly, its a JAA Class 1 medical exam that one has to take and pass (and self-fund, 400 pounds and take at gatwick Airport) before you can even start training in an aircraft.

I would assume there are less intense certificates you can get, with this being named for class 1, that may just be for private flying, but with this course aiming to churn out fuly qualified airline pilots, I guess they want you to get the full monty straight away!

When I get back home with all the paperwork, I can look throught it all and correct any mistakes I have made in this post!
