I can ask the questions to the builder, he now has the engine in a Cessna 172 and it has improved performance in that bird significantly.....I believe the build was a standard kit with attention to keep all tolerances to the minimums.........weight was always an issue as performance is directly related to wing loading and power loading.............

Note that many of these expensive "Kits" do not include the extra price of an engine, complete instrument/radio fit, upholstery, or paint... :o...!
...the cost of hiring an inspector to inspect the proceedings as the build progresses..
..and on top of that your need to obtain your expensive Pilots Licence to be able to fly it...
...and it's also going to cost you loads of money to fly it, insure it, and somewhere to hangar it, etc...etc...etc..

How much money have you got saved in your Piggy-Bank so far...?

LOL...!

Paul... 8)...!
Win 8.1 64-bit. DX11. Advent Tower. Intel i7-3770 3.9 GHz 8-core. 8 GB System RAM. AMD Radeon HD 7700 1GB RAM. DVD ROM. 2 Terra Byte SATA Hard Drive. Philips 17" LCD Monitor. Saitek Cyborg X Fly-5 Joystick. ...and a Briggs and Stratton Petrol Lawn Mower.

Fozzer's got a point- although an RV for less than $60,000 with engine beats about $150K for a brand-new C172, it ain't cheap. Then there's the time required to build it; cost of tools, etc.
Still a great way to go, many kits are just wonderful airplanes at a substantial savings, but it's not cheap.

Well actually im located in Guatemala, Central America, as you know here in Guatemala the aviation is not advanced but im intended with another group to give people another alternative instead of buying a Cessna, Piper, Beechcraft, etc that are much more expensive to provide them with the homebuilt Kits.

We asked some people and the 60% to 70% prefer the aerobatic.,

And were are also intended to make an aerobatic team
but using the best plane (price, especially)
