Just what Biggin Hill didn't need...

With all the "NIMBY" pressure around the airfield, particularly following the Vampire and Kingcobra crashes in 2001, this is the last thing the airport needed. At least it didn't hit any residential buildings, which may be due to the sacrifice of the crew...

Well, atleast it wasn't at the airshow. It was hardly anything to do with Biggin Hill itself. Neither were the Vampire and Kingcobra crashes. Never good to see a crashed plane with a student in...

Unfortunately that isn't how a lot of people will see it. To certain groups it was another aeroplane using (based at) Biggin Hill that crashed in a residential area very, very close to houses.

That's the problem though. People think too negatively.

For example, in 1975, a train derailed at Nuneaton station, and ploughed onto the platform. 6 people were killed, 38 were injured. Does that make a railway station platform an unsafe place? Is it a common occurance? No. But the problem is, once it's happened, people get slightly paranoid. Just wish that wasn't the case.

And I use the term 'people' in relation to the people that I'm actually referring to, not everyone
